In accordance with N.C.G.S. 116-40.11, students or student organizations who are charged with a violation of the Code of Student Conduct and are going through the formal resolution process, may be represented, at their own expense, by a licensed attorney or non-attorney advocate of their own choosing.
In an effort to educate and prepare attorneys and/or non-attorney advocates we have provided information regarding our process. Please keep in mind that the University disciplinary process is very different from the civil or criminal judicial system. The University's process is not adversarial; its purpose is to educate the student and contribute to his or her ethical development. If you have additional questions after reviewing our website and the information provided specifically for attorneys and non-attorney advocates, please contact the Office of Student Conduct.
